Thanks to all of our donors during 2016. You have all been incredibly supportive and are each instrumental to the continued success of WMRC and FWR. The WMRC 50/50 Campaign was particularly successful and we achieved 93% of our $20,000 goal! More information on the conclusion of the 50/50 Campaign, including the purchase of the new King 8+ will be coming soon!
Donation receipts for 2016 have been sent to each donor. For one-time donors, most of these donation receipts were sent during the year, but donors who made more frequent donations, including our monthly subscribers, received their receipts during January 2017. If you don’t believe you received your receipt or need a replacement, email firstname.lastname@example.org. FWR is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, IRS Tax ID number 54-1744679.
2016 was a good year for the WMRC Endowment! Thanks to our generous donors throughout the year and in particular, the donors that contributed to the 50/50 campaign, we received over $7,500 in endowment donations! That plus a 9.5% return on our investments during 2016 helped put us at approximately $21,500 at year-end! However, this is still $3,500 short of our $25,000 goal as part of the 50/50 campaign, so if you have been meaning to make your 50/50 campaign donation, it isn’t too late. Just visit our 50/50 campaign page and donate today.
Ultimately, we expect the WMRC Endowment will be able to distribute 5% annually to support WMRC. Based on our current balance, the Endowment would distribute approximately $1,075 per year. That could buy us a new model D erg, two new cox boxes, or three new concept II oars, just to name a few options!

It’s the second annual WMRC Homecoming celebration! Alumni and current members alike, come out to the Chickahominy Riverfront Park Site at 8:00 a.m. for a refreshing morning row. Then meet up at noon for a reunion tailgate at the grassy area next to Blow Hall (between Monroe and Tyler) for complimentary food, alcoholic beverages, and other refreshments. Erging and rowing swag will also be available for those interested. Maybe you’re coming to see the boathouse, maybe you’d like to meet and support the bright new stars of the team, perhaps you’re itching to fly over the cool waters of the Chick, or maybe you’re just there for the food and memories. Whatever your reason, we’d love to see you! When you RSVP, please message us or email Sean Koebley at email@example.com to indicate if you’ll be attending the morning row, tailgate, or both. See you there!
